Neben der Lyrik gehört das Drama zu den Leitgattungen in der Zeit des Expressionismus. Gleichzeitig entwickelt sich der Film von der populären Unterhaltung zu einem Medium mit künstlerischem Anspruch. Das Experimentieren mit sprachlichen und visuellen Mitteln erreicht in beiden Genres einen ungekannten Modernisierungsschub. Anhand von kurzen dramatischen Texten und Filmbeispielen soll im Seminar untersucht werden, wie Wort, Szene und performatives Spiel zu einem spannungsreichen Gesamtkomplex verschmelzen.
