In der Kommunikation zwischen Menschen wird eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Modalitäten verwendet. Neben der Sprache, die eine wesentliche Rolle bei der Vermittlung symbolischer Information spielt, sind dabei Handbewegungen ein wichtiger Faktor. Menschen verwenden ihre Hände bei der Kommunikation für unterschiedliche Zwecke, beispielsweise zur Unterstützung sprachlicher Äußerungen. Für die Interaktion zwischen Menschen und Robotern ist die Nutzung der gestischen Informationen ein wesentlicher Bestandteil auf dem Weg zu einem Roboter, der eine möglichst natürliche Interaktion unterstützt.

Das Projekt richtet sich an Studierende im Hauptstudium mit Interesse an Bildverarbeitung und Social Robotics. Je nach Teilnehmeranzahl sollen verschiedene Ansätze zur Realisierung einer gestenbasierten Interaktion realisiert werden.

Mögliche Projektthemen sind:

  • Zeigegesten zur Referenzierung von Objekten und Orten
  • Kommandogesten zur Übermittlung von Steuerungsbefehlen
  • Lernen und imitieren basaler Gesten auf BARTHOC
  • Manipulative Gestik zur Interaktion mit Objekten
  • Aktionen als komplexe Folgen von Handbewegungen

Vorkenntnisse aus dem Bereich Bildverarbeitung und/oder Robotik
