„Geschlecht ist ein soziales Konstrukt“ - mit dieser Grundregel werden Studierende der Geschlechterforschung allerorts konfrontiert. Doch genau diese Formel zu verstehen und in soziologischen Fragestellungen kritisch anzuwenden, ist zuweilen kompliziert. Denn die Erklärungsansätze der Geschlechterforschung sind vielfältig, die Theorien uneinheitlich. Es stellt sich rasch die Frage: wie genau wird „konstruiert“? Und wie können wir dies soziologisch erklären?
Anhand ausgewählter Ansätze der Geschlechterforschung werden wir verschiedene Zugänge zu „Geschlecht“ und der „Konstruktion von Geschlechtern“ kennenlernen.
