300021 Workers and Labour in a Globalised Capitalism (S) (WiSe 2014/2015)

Contents, comment

„Workers and Labour in a Globalized Capitalism“ is an edited volume (2014; ed. Maurizio Atzeni) assessing the role of workers and their representatives as fundamental social actors in current societal changes, mainly caused by globalization and by austerity policies. The volume addresses issues like class and working class formation, gender and social reproduction, collective representation and action, immigration, precariousness and informal labour.
In the seminar, we will critically discuss a selection of the contribution to this volume. Participants are expected to prepare each session by reading one of the texts and by preparing inputs for seminar discussions.
