Studierende können:

  • für wichtigste Klassen von Biomolekülen eine Schlüsselmethode benennen
  • die Vielzahl und Vielfalt der Methoden und die Dynamik ihrer Entwicklung einschätzen
  • die Ziele der Systemmedizin und personalisierten Medizin wiedergeben
  • aktuelle Prinzipien der Sequenzierungsmethoden von Erbinformation schildern und ihren Einsatz in Forschung und Anwendung benennen

Die Vorlesung stellt den Fachbereich der Bioanalytik vor und die Bedeutung für biomedizinische Forschung. Verschiedene analytische Level & Methoden für die Charakterisierung von Biomolekülen werden präsentiert und die Anwendung in Kontext biomedizinischer Forschung exemplarisch vorgestellt. Der Beitrag von OMICS-Methoden für die Entwicklungen der Systemmedizin und personalisierte Medizin werden ausgeführt. Aktuelle Entwicklungen im Bereich der Next-Generation-Sequencing (NGS) werden erläutert und ihr Einsatz für Genom-, Exom- und Panel-Sequenzierungen im Forschungsbereich, sowie klinisch-diagnostischer Anwendung wird anhand von Beispielen geschildert.
