231025 Antike Medien: Medea (S) (WiSe 2013/2014)

Der griechische Tragödiendichter Euripides hatte ein Faible für starke und ungewöhnliche Frauen, zumindest in seinen Stücken. So widmet er auch der Kindsmörderin Medea eine Tragödie. Diese und die Bearbeitung des römischen Schriftstellers Seneca sollen im Mittelpunkt des Seminars stehen. Beide Stücke werden dahingehend analysiert, wie die Dichter mit dem Thema und der Rechtfertigung des Kindsmordes umgehen sowie inwieweit der weibliche thymos eine Rolle spielt.
