"Big data", Abhörskandale, Daten-sammelwütige Firmen. Dass immer mehr Informationen digital bereitliegen, ist inzwischen ein allseits bekannter Fakt. In dieser Veranstaltung soll es darum gehen, wie eine "zivile" Nutzung digitaler Datenquellen aussehen kann im Bereich des Journalismus. Hier warten Gesetzestexte, Pressemitteilungen, Parlamentsberichte --- und immer häufiger auch anderweitig "freigelegte" Dokumentsammlungen wie z.B. Botschaftsdepeschen, Geschäftsakten --- auf ihre journalistische Aufbereitung. Diese ist durch einfaches Lesen oft nicht zu leisten. Wir werden Methoden kennenlernen, aus großen Textmengen automatisch oder halb-automatisch Zusammenhänge zu extrahieren. Diese Methoden werden wir in kleinen Beispielprojekten versuchen anzuwenden, wobei die Beispielprojekte jeweils in einen journalistischen Bericht münden sollen, dessen Erstellung ohne eben diese Anwendung texttechnologischer Methoden nicht möglich gewesen wäre.

Erwartet wird die vorangegangene Teilnahme an der Einführung in die Computerlinguistik. Elementare Programmierkenntnisse (in Python) sind wünschenswert.
