Ziel dieser Veranstaltung ist es, in Problemstellungen der aktuellen zahlentheoretischen Forschung einzuführen. Dabei sollen insbesondere die sogenannten Stark-Vermutungen behandelt werden, die eine sehr genaue Beziehung zwischen analytischen Objekten (Werte bzw. führende Koeffizienten in der Taylor-Entwicklung von L-Reihen an ganzen Stellen) und arithmetischen Objekten (wie etwa die Klassengruppe oder die Einheiten eines Zahlkörpers) vorhersagen. Diese ursprünglich auf Harold Stark (in den 70er Jahren) zurückgehenden Vermutungen haben inzwischen weit reichende Verallgemeinerungen erfahren.

Kenntnisse in algebraischer Zahlentheorie sind erforderlich; Kenntnisse in Klassenkörpertheorie und Grundlagen der Iwasawa-Theorie sind wünschenswert.
