Die Veranstaltung soll in das Bürgerliche Recht einführen. Im Zentrum steht das erste Buch des BGB, der Allgemeine Teil: Hierin werden Definitionen, Begriffe und Institute behandelt, die für alle nachfolgenden vier Bücher (Schuld-, Sachen-, Familien- und Erbrecht) von grundlegender Bedeutung sind wie etwa die Person, ihre Rechts- und Geschäftsfähigkeit, Sachen und Rechte, Willenserklärungen, Rechtsgeschäfte, Verträge, Stellvertretung etc.
Die Vorlesung (4 SWS) wird von Arbeitsgemeinschaften (Tutorials) begleitet.
Am Ende der Vorlesungszeit wird eine Semesterabschlussklausur angeboten.
