In der Veranstaltung wird in historischer Beschreibung und Reflexion den Fragen nachgegangen, wie es zur Kategorisierung einer Schülergruppe kam, die heute dem Förderschwerpunkt Lernen zugeordnet ist, und in welchem Zusammenhang die Abspaltung der Hilfsschule von der Volksschule dazu steht. Das Ergebnis dieser Analyse wird für die Diskussion aktueller, lernbehindertenpädagogischer Fragestellungen genutzt, die aus inklusionspädagogischer Perspektive und im nationalem Vergleich die Konstruktion einer Behindertengruppe, die Dekategorisierung und die Effizienz spezieller (Hilfs-, Sonder-, Förder-) Schulen umfassen.
Diese Auseinandersetzung basiert auf Text- und Begriffsanalysen, die in Einzel-, Partner- und Kleingruppenarbeit durchgeführt werden.
