239640 American Literary Postmodernism...and beyond (?) (S+BS) (SoSe 2013)

Contents, comment

This seminar serves as a short introduction to (literary) concepts of ‘Postmodernism’ on the basis of American postmodern literature and will then move beyond, exploring postmodernist film. Students will get the chance to apply their newly acquired knowledge and thoughts to film/ transform their ideas into a creative presentation.

Bibliography

Students will need to have read Sylvia Plath's "The Bell Jar".
Further material will be provided by Monday, March 18th.

On the first and second day of the seminar, in particular, students will be expected to work at home in preparation for the next day. Thus, it is not enough to simply ‘attend’ the seminar during the day!

Students will have to give a presentation during the seminar and write a short elaboration of the latter (5 pages) due to April 7th, 2013.
