Das Seminar gibt einen Überblick über das Filmschaffen Fritz Langs. Ausführlicher besprochen werden die beiden Teile von 'Dr. Mabuse, der Spieler' (1922) und der 'Nibelungen' (Siegfried; Kriemhilds Rache, 1924) sowie 'Metropolis' (1927), 'Spione' (1928), 'Frau im Mond' (1929) und der in Zusammenarbeit mit Bertolt Brecht entstandene Film 'Auch Henker sterben' (1943).
Alle Filme sind günstig auf DVDs erhältlich, für 'Metropolis' ist die Ausgabe mit der erweiterten Fassung von 2011 (3 DVDs, Special Edition) zu empfehlen.
