Der Aufbaukurs knüpft an die Arbeiten im Grundkurs an. Während dort methodische Aspekte im Vordergrund standen, wird im Aufbaukurs jedoch der Schwerpunkt auf Analysetechniken liegen. Die in den Arbeitsgruppen geplanten Projekte sollen im Aufbaukurs anhand von Sekundäranalysen der Daten aus dem DFG-Projekt "Jugendkriminalität in der modernen Stadt" fortgesetzt werden.
Da die Tutorien überwiegend im CIP-Pool stattfinden werden, sollten alle Seminarteilnehmer/innen eine entsprechende Nutzerkennung (nicht die vom HRZ!) haben.
