230031 Elektra: Sophokles und Hofmannsthal (S) (WiSe 2022/2023)

Im Zentrum des Seminars stehen die Elektra-Dramen von Sophokles und die Variation des Stoffs durch Hofmannsthal. Beide Dramen werden genau und sehr textnah gelesen und interpretiert und dann ins Verhältnis gesetzt. Dabei kommen dann Fragen der Stoff- und Motivgeschichte wie auch der Intertextualität auf. Je nach Geschwindigkeit kann sich die Option ergeben, dass wir als drittes Drama noch Goethes Iphigenie hinzuziehen, die ja in einer inhaltlichen Beziehung zur Elektra steht.

Literaturgeschichtliche Vorkenntnisse sind sehr hilfreich. Es wird die Notwendigkeit erwartet, die Texte gründlich vorzubereiten. Dazu ist der Besitz der Texte nötig, in analoger oder digitaler Form - aber auf jeden Fall müssen sie zu bearbeiten sein!
