Die Veranstaltung hat zum Ziel, neuere demokratietheoretische Ansätze gemeinsam zu lesen und zu diskutieren. Dabei werden insbesondere jüngere Herausforderungen, die sich erstens aus dem Spannungsfeld von Transnationalisierung und Entgrenzungsprozessen ergeben. In Frage stehen zweitens wandelnde Verständnisse von Bürgerschaft und Legitimität. Dritten werden die Zumutungen für etablierte demokratische Herrschaft in den Krisen der westlichen Gegenwartsgesellschaften reflektiert. Texte zu simulativen und aleatorischen Demokratieansätzen werden ebenso Gegenstand des Seminars sein wie zur Diskussion stehen wie partizipatorisch-widerständige und subjektrechtliche Perspektiven.
Die Texte werden zu Beginn der Veranstaltung bereit gestellt.
