Nach der Veranstaltung können Sie beschreiben, was ein Confounder ist und warum diese häufig in der medizinischen Forschung auftreten. Sie kennen weiterhin die lineare Regression als Möglichkeit, mit Confounding umzugehen. Diese können Sie in der Praxis anwenden und deren Ergebnisse interpretieren. Zusätzlich können Sie den Unterschied zwischen Korrelation und Kausalität beschreiben.
Die Problematik des Confoundings wird eingeführt. Die lineare Regression als Möglichkeit des Umgangs mit Confounding wird detailliert besprochen. Der Fokus liegt dabei insbesondere auf der Interpretation der Ergebnisse einer linearen Regression und der Anwendbarkeit in der Praxis. Zusätzlich wird auf den Unterschied von Korrelation und Kausalität eingegangen.
