Im Seminar werden Grundpositionen der Geschichtsphilosophie vom 18. bis zum 20. Jahrhundert von Kant, Schiller und Hegel bis zu Walter Benjamin und Karl Jaspers auf der Basis gemeinsamer Lektüre (Auszüge oder Ganzschriften) erarbeitet. Ein größerer Block wird dabei vor allem Hegels Geschichtsphilosophie gewidmet sein. Neben den Geschichtsphilosophen selbst werden auch ihre Kritiker von Marx bis zur Postmoderne an ausgewählten Textbeispielen diskutiert
