Im Rahmen des Seminars wollen wir uns mit der (Regel-)Gesundheitsversorgung von transgeschlechtlichen Personen in Deutschland befassen und damit, inwiefern diese mit dem (Un-)Wissen über Körper, die nicht der (geschlechtlichen) Norm entsprechen, innerhalb der Medizin verschränkt ist. Da der heteronormative, ärztliche Blick (vgl. Foucault 2016 [1963]) im medizinischen Kontext ein lebenslanges Outing (immer wieder) notwendig macht, also die Gegebenheit des Körpers Handlungsräume eröffnet und begrenzt (vgl. Meuser 2006: 98), ist die (bio-)medizinische Be- und Verhandlung transgeschlechtlicher Körper niemals vollständig abgeschlossen, sondern führt zu einer permanenten (Re-)Produktion von Geschlechtlichkeit. Ziel des Seminars ist es, das Spannungsfeld zwischen der gesamtgesellschaftlich beobachtbaren Pluralisierung von Geschlechterkonzepten und der Materialität des (Geschlechts-)Körpers in und am Beispiel der Medizin auszuleuchten.
