Gesellschaftliche Verantwortung der Wirtschaft (Corporate Social Responsibility und Corporate Citizenship) wird seit einigen Jahren nicht nur in den Medien diskutiert, sondern auch wissenschaftlich untersucht - vor allem von den Wirtschaftswissenschaften. In der Soziologie ist es ein relativ neues Thema; es überwiegen wirtschaftskritische Ansätze und Untersuchungen. Das Seminar bewegt sich in diesem Spannungsfeld und liefert Beiträge für eine fundierte Diskussion des Themas, indem eine kritische soziologische Analyse der gesellschaftlichen Verantwortung der Wirtschaft vorgenommen wird. Verantwortung wird dabei von Verantwortungslosigkeit/Abwehr von Verantwortung bis zu proaktivem sozialem Engagement von Unternehmen und Wirtschaftsverbänden gefasst. Behandelt werden u.a. Daten und Fallstudien sowie soziologische Erklärungsansätze.
Die Lehrveranstaltung ist als Lektüreseminar angelegt; es wird die Bereitschaft zur Präsentation eines ausgewählten Texts erwartet.
