Menschen erinnern sich häufiger an emotionale als an neutrale Lebensereignisse und auch eher an emotionale Inhalte von Experimenten. Auch haben wir das Gefühl, emotionale Sachverhalte klarer zu erinnern. Das Seminar beleuchtet Forschung, die untersucht, inwiefern dieser gefühlte Erinnerungsvorteil den Tatsachen entspricht und wie dieser Vorteil, aber auch emotionale Gedächtnisverzerrungen, zu Stande kommen. Hierzu werden einige klassische Studien zu Effekten wie ‚Flashbulb Memories’, ‚State Dependent Memory’ oder dem Weapon Focus anhand von kürzeren ausgewählten Texten der Originalliteratur besprochen. Die Texte werden zur Verfügung gestellt.
