The main purpose of this seminar is to make sure that students have the ability to use grammatical structures and collocations appropriately and correctly in a variety of contexts.
The course will provide a fundamental overview of the grammatical structure of the English language. The special difficulties of German learners will be the focus of our discussion and will form the most important basis for the various exercises and practice activities that we will engage in.
Participants must have passed the departmental Entrance Test or one of the recognized equivalents.
Books which may be helpful for independent learning are:

This seminar requires participants to engage in independent study activities that will provide practice in those areas of English grammar that are especially problematic for German learners in general as well as areas of individual difficulty. At least 70% of the classroom exercises and activities need to be completed to earn credit for this course. This work will help everyone assess their personal strengths and deficits in the mastery of English grammar.
There is one Module Examination for all the Language Practice courses. (Basismodul 1)
