Die RAF ist längst vom politisch-soziologischen Thema auch zu einem Gegenstand ästhetischer Auseinandersetzung geworden, wie zahlreiche Beispiele von Margarethe von Trotta bis Andres Veiel, von F.C. Delius bis Leander Scholz, von Gerhard Richter bis Hans-Peter Feldmann, von Jan Delay bis Wizo belegen. Was macht die RAF zu einem bevorzugten Gegenstand medialer Inszenierungen und Interpretationen? In welchem Verhältnis stehen Politik und Ästhetik in den Arbeiten zur RAF? Hat sich der Fokus der künstlerischen Auseinandersetzung mit der RAF von den 1970er Jahren bis heute geändert? Diese Fragestellungen sollen anhand exemplarischer Darstellungen der RAF in Film, Literatur, bildender Kunst und Musik besprochen werden.
