Wir werden uns im Seminar mit dem Begriff der Geste auseinandersetzen und aus der Perspektive verschiedener theoretischer Ansätze kritisch diskutieren. Fragestellungen, die uns während des Semesters begleiten werden, sind u.a.: Was ist eigentlich eine Geste? Welcher Gegenstand verbirgt sich hinter unterschiedlichen Definitionen und Ansätzen? Welche Art von Interaktionsverhalten wird wie in den Fokus genommen? Inwieweit ist das entsprechende Konzept eine brauchbare analytische Ressource?
Ansätze, mit denen wir uns beschäftigen werden, sind u.a. der Gestenbegriff nach Mead, der Stellenwert von Gesten im Rahmen der antiken Rhetorik oder Gesten aus gesprächsanaly-tisch-multimodaler Perspektive.

- Gesprächsanalytische Grundkenntnisse sind wünschenswert, aber nicht zwingend notwendig.
- Der Umgang mit englischsprachigen Fachtexten sollte kein Problem darstellen.
