Das Seminar findet in Blockform statt.

Die Gegenwartsgesellschaft ist im besonderen Maße durch Technologie und Expertenwissen geprägt. Das Seminar will der Frage nachgehen, welche Probleme die Emergenz einer technisierten Wissensgesellschaft für politische Gestaltungsbemühungen mit sich bringt und welche institutionellen Lösungsansätze sich dabei etabliert haben. Im Seminar sollen zunächst Theorien und Zeitdiagnosen zum Verhältnis von Wissen, Technik und Politik einen grundlegenden Zugang zur Thematik eröffnen. Im Anschluss daran werden insbesondere Ansätze der Technikfolgenabschätzung vertieft diskutiert. Durch die Integration empirischer Fallbeispiele zur Regulierung (riskanter) Technologien soll schließlich geprüft werden, wie es mit den Möglichkeiten und Grenzen einer wissensbasierten Politik in technisch geprägten Kontexten bestellt ist.
