The course introduces history, definition and roles of international organizations in promoting peace and security, human rights, social and economic development and environment protection. It presents the main two types of international organizations (governmental and non-governmental) and discusses various case-studies and examples of constitution, legal framework, scope of work and international powers and authorities from various organizations including the United Nation, the European Union, the World Trade Organization, Amnesty International, and others.
The course provides an opportunity for a critical perspective on the performance of each organization in the related functioning areas.
