Das Französische und das Spanische sind aufgrund ihrer Sprecherzahlen und auch ihrer geographischen Ausbreitung Weltsprachen. Dies zeigt sich besonders auf dem amerikanischen Kontinent, wo vor allem das Spanische weitaus größer ist als im europäischen Mutterland. Im Seminar wollen wir einen Blick über den Tellerrand hinaus wagen und gemeinsam das amerikanische Spanisch und Französisch betrachten. Im Fokus sollen verschiedene Facetten stehen:
- die diatopische Variation, d.h. die dialektalen Unterschiede zwischen den europäischen und amerikanischen Varietäten, aber auch innerhalb des amerikanischen Sprachgebiets
- der soziokulturelle Status des Französischen/ Spanischen im Vergleich zu anderen dort gesprochenen Sprachen sowie die damit verbundenen sprachpolitischen Tendenzen
- die Relevanz und mögliche Integrationsansätze dieser Aspekte im Fremdsprachenunterricht
