  • Die Studierenden können die historische Entwicklung der Medizin als Wissenschaft an einem konkreten Beispiel reflektieren .
  • Sie sind in der Lage, exemplarisch medizinische Begriffe wissenschaftstheoretisch zu reflektieren.
  • Sie können an einem Beispiel der empirischen und experimentellen Forschung wissenschaftstheoretische Konzepte erläutern.
  • Sie können an einem Beispiel der empirischen und experimentellen Forschung die historische Entwicklung wichtiger medizinischer Begriffe erläutern.


Ein besonders wichtiges Konzept in der wissenschaftlichen Medizin ist die \"Evidence-based Medicine\" (EbM). Doch was ist EbM und wie entstand sie? In diesem Seminar wird dies anhand eines konkreten Fallbeispiels historisch und wissenschaftstheoretisch analysiert und reflektiert.

Mitte des 18. Jahrhunderts wurde krankhafter Vitamin-C-Mangel als Ursache des Skorbuts nachgewiesen. Inwiefern war der Lernprozess über diese Krankheit, die insbesondere Seeleute betraf, für die Medizin eine Revolution? Und können wir aus diesem Ereignis etwas für die aktuelle Corona-Pandemie lernen? Diesen und anderen Fragen wollen wir uns gemeinsam im Seminar stellen, indem wir historische und aktuelle Beispiele für medizintheoretische Erkenntnisgewinne kennenlernen und ihre Bedeutung für die moderne Medizin einordnen.

Als Vorbereitung des Seminars wird vorab eine kurze inhaltliche Einführung online zur Verfügung gestellt. Im Seminar selbst stehen die Zusammenhänge der verschiedenen Beispiele im Fokus, die wir uns im Wechsel in Teilgruppen und alle zusammen diskursiv erschließen werden.
