Ziel dieser Veranstaltung ist das Erlernen von Techniken der Analyse und des Verstehens von Argumentation. Das geschieht anhand von kurzen Texten oder Textauszügen, welche das Problem der Moralbegründung zum Gegenstand haben. Zu diesem Zweck werden die Teilnehmer(innen) intensiv betreut. Im Lauf des Semesters müssen mehrere schriftliche Einzelleistungen (ca. dreiseitige Arbeiten) erbracht werden. Der Leistungsnachweis wird auf Grund dieser Einzelleistungen erworben.

Voraussetzung für die Vergabe von 5 Leistungspunkten (Bachelor Einschreibung ab WS 11/12) ist ein mindestens mit „ausreichend“ bewertetes Portfolio. Für das Portfolio sind mehrere kleinere Essays anzufertigen. Der Umfang der Essays wird je nach Textgrundlage zwischen der/dem Dozierenden und den Studierenden besprochen, der Gesamtumfang des Portfolios beträgt ca. 2.000 Wörter. Die Bewertung erfolgt abschließend aufgrund einer Gesamtbetrachtung der Essays.
Voraussetzung für die Vergabe von 4 Leistungspunkten (Bachelor Einschreibung bis SoSe 11 und Master of Education) ist die regelmäßige und aktive Teilnahme sowie das erfolgreiche Erbringen einer benoteten Einzelleistung. Die benotete Einzelleistung wird durch ein Portfolio aus zwei bis drei kürzeren eigenen Texten erbracht, die mit dem Leiter des Kurses individuell und detailliert besprochen werden. Anzahl und ungefähre Länge der geforderten Texte werden zu Beginn des Semesters bekannt gegeben.
