Man kommt an diesem Befund kaum vorbei, dass literaturgeschichtliche Kenntnisse für die Frühe Neuzeit, also den Zeitraum von etwa 1500 bis etwa 1780, inzwischen kaum mehr vorhanden sind. Mehr als die vagen Stichworte 'vanitas' und '30jähriger Krieg' bleiben zum Beispiel aus der schulischen Beschäftigung mit der Epoche des Barock selten übrig. Die Vorlesung will diesem Defizit ein wenig abhelfen, indem Sitzung für Sitzung ausgewählte Gedichte vorgestellt und interpretiert werden. So soll eine erste Vorstellung von der Lyrik-Geschichte der Frühen Neuzeit entstehen, die von der Texterfahrung selbst aus gewonnen wird. Die Vorlesung ist auf zwei Semester angelegt. Im Sommersemester wollen wir uns auf den Zeitraum 1500 bis ca. 1650 konzentrieren. Vorkenntnisse sind nicht erforderlich; die Texte werden in die Vorlesung mitgebracht bzw. über die Dokumentenablage zur Verfügung gestellt.
