Wenn wir erzählt bekommen, wie es jemandem ergangen ist, lernen wir manchmal daraus, wie man in einer solchen Situation handeln sollte, machen vielleicht nicht den gleichen Fehler noch einmal. Wenn wir aber erzählt bekommen, was tatsächlich niemandem geschehen ist, also eine fiktive Geschichte, können wir daraus auch lernen, wie man handeln sollte, können wir daraus vielleicht sogar mehr darüber lernen als aus den wirklichen Geschehnissen? Aristoteles scheint dieser Meinung gewesen zu sein, und eine breite Tradition der Poetik ist ihm gefolgt. Aufgabe des Seminars wird es sein, die Überlegungen verständlich zu machen und kritisch zu prüfen, mit denen der normative Anspruch fiktionaler narrativer Texte begründet worden ist, und zwar an Hand sowohl theoretischer Texte aus Poetik und Moralphilosophie wie auch beispielhafter “moralischer Geschichten”.
