Im Zuge der aktuellen Finanz- und Schuldenskrise hat das öffentliche und wissenschaftliche Interesse an Organisationen, die sich primär auf finanzwirtschaftliche Problemstellungen beziehen, deutlich zugenommen. Organisationen wie Banken, Rating-Agenturen oder Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaften sind zum alltäglichen Bestandteil von Berichterstattungen in den Massenmedien geworden und stehen vermehrt im Mittelpunkt sozialwissenschaftlicher Studien. Diese Entwicklungen aufgreifend, soll das Seminar Möglichkeiten eröffnen, soziologisch fundierte Einblicke in wichtige Organisationen der Finanzwirtschaft zu gewinnen. Hierzu werden in einem ersten Schritt relevante Theorieangebote hinsichtlich ihres analytischen Potentials diskutiert. Darauf aufbauend dienen Fallstudien dazu, konkrete Bezugsprobleme, Operationsformen und Effekte exemplarisch zu untersuchen.
Der Veranstaltungsplan und eine Liste mit veranstaltungsrelevanten Texten bzw. Textauszügen werden den TeilnehmerInnen Anfang April zur Verfügung gestellt.
