Zu Beginn des Seminars wird in einem Exkurs ein geschichtlicher Überblick über verschiedene Diversity-Ansätze gegeben. Im Anschluss daran werden theoretische Erklärungsansätze im Bezug auf praktische Handlungsfelder (Schule, Beratung, etc.) besprochen.
Der Fokus des Seminars liegt dabei auf dem sogenannten agency-Ansatz, der im Laufe des Seminars vorgestellt wird. Es wird ein Bezug hergestellt zu handlungsfähigen Subjekten (Foucault) und kritischer Handlungsfähigkeit im Rahmen partizipativer Strukturen.
In der letzten Phase des Seminars wird die Anschlussfähigkeit der bearbeiteten Diversity-Konzepte für pädagogische Kontexte theoretisierend analysiert und untersucht.
