Erziehungswissenschaftliche Perspektiven und pädagogisch-konzeptionelle Reaktionen auf (Im)Migration werden rekonstruiert und sowohl einer diachronen wie einer synchronen Betrachtung und kritischen Erörterung unterzogen. Wie haben Pädagogik und Erziehungswissenschaft gesellschaftliche Phänomene, die an Migration geknüpft sind, im Laufe der Zeit beschrieben, bewertet und problematisiert? Welches Theoriewissen und welche praktisch-pädagogischen Problemlösungsstrategien und -angebote wurden entwickelt, die Erziehungs-, Bildungs- und Sozialisationsprozesse in Anbetracht einwanderungsbedingter gesellschaftliche Heterogenität beleuchten? Die Vorlesung will in das Themengebiet: Pädagogik in der Einwanderungsgesellschaft einführen und angesichts institutionell differenter Rahmenbedingungen in Schule, im vor- oder außerschulischen Bereich die jeweiligen pädagogischen Umgangsweisen mit ethnischer Differenz aufzeigen und im Rückgriff auf Theorieangebote und empirische Befunde der sozialwissenschaftlichen Migrationsforschung kommentieren.
