Was unterscheidet Frauenberufe von Männerberufen und ist diese Unterscheidung noch zeitgemäß? Welche Rolle spielt das Geschlecht bei der Berufswahl? Wie voll-ziehen sich Prozesse der Vergeschlechtlichung von Berufen und was bedeutet ein Geschlechtswechsel von Berufen? Wie entwickelt sich aktuell die geschlechtliche Segregation des Arbeitsmarktes, verliert Geschlecht als Ordnungskategorie an Be-deutung?
Das Seminar gibt einen Überblick über Theorie und Empirie der geschlechtersoziolo-gischen Forschung zu Beruf und Geschlecht. Es werden verschiedene theoretische Konzepte vorgestellt und aktuelle Entwicklungstendenzen diskutiert. Analysiert wer-den sowohl Prozesse der Reproduktion wie der Erosion von Geschlechterdifferenzen in Beruf, Arbeitsmarkt und Berufswahl.
