Der Capability Approach (Nussbaum/Sen) ist ein philosophisch-volkswirtschaftliches Gerechtigkeitskonzept, das auf die Ermöglichung der Voraussetzungen eines individuell guten Lebens zielt. Bildungsgerechtigkeit ist ein zentraler Fokus dieser sozialpolitisch gegenwärtig überaus einflussreichen Agenda.
In diesem Seminar wird zunächst die Grundlagen des Capability Approachs und seine erziehungswissenschaftliche Relevanz herausgearbeitet. Im Anschluss werden aktuelle Schulentwicklungsnsatze auf ihr Potenzial zur Verwirklichung von Bildungsgerechtigkeit im Sinne des Capability Approach untersucht.Die Mitarbeit an der Schulentwicklung gehört zu den Basiskompetenzen professioneller LehrerInnen. Das Seminar möchte diese Professionalisierung durch die Auseinandersetzung mit befähigunsbasierten Schulentwicklungsperspektiven bereichern.
Die Teilnahme am Seminar erfordert eine intensive Lektüre der Literatur und die Bereitschaft, diese Literatur kooperativen zu erschließen. Es wird aus allen vier Sozialformen bestehen und Zeiten für das Selbststudium beinhalten.
Benotete Einzelleistungen können in modulbezogenen Vertiefungsseminaren erbracht werden.
Es wird empfohlen sich entweder in der Schreibwerkstatt (Bornkessel), Beleg-Nr. 250017 oder in der didaktischen Vertiefung (Kullmann), Beleg-Nr. 250032 anzumelden, um die Inhalte des Seminars zu vertiefen.

Wer bereits die "Einführung in die Schulentwicklung" besucht hat oder gerade besucht, kennt bereits einen Teil der Seminarliteratur. Das ist jedoch keine Teilnahmevoraussetzung, da die Texte im Seminar erneut aufgegriffen und besprochen werden.

Für eine aktive Teilnahme wird in Stammgruppen ein Seminarportfolio erstellt, in dem zentrale Seminarinhalte und deren Reflexion dokumentiert sind.
