250006 Qualitative Medienanalyse: Die Schurken im Blockbusterkino (S) (SoSe 2012)

Die Geschichte der Schurken ist so lang, wie die Geschichte der Helden - mag man denken.

Darth Vader ist gemeinsam mit Bruce (dem weißen Hai) der Großvater aller Bösewichter im postklassischen Hollywoodkino.
Sauron und Saruman, Voldemort, Joker, Agent Smith, Davy Jones und Cuttler Beckett, Senator Palpatine, Professor Moriarti, Loki, Alien, Lex Luthor, T1000, der Sheriff von Nottingham, Boba Fett, und wie sie noch alle heißen mögen. Sie alle haben etwas gemeinsam: sie sind vielfach beliebter als die Helden.

Eine der Fragen dieses Seminars wird sein: Warum?
Andere Fragen könnten lauten: Was ist das Böse überhaupt? Welches Kontextes bedarf das Böse, um zu existieren?
Für die alten Griechen war der Fall eindeutig: es gibt kein Böses. Wieso aber kennen wir das 'Böse'?

In diesem Seminar wenden wir uns also den Schatten, der dunklen Seite der Macht, den Gestalten der Finsternis etc. zu.

Requirements for participation, required level

Voraussetzung ist es, sich im Blockbusterkino ein wenig auszukennen und das
Interesse an einer medienpädagogisch-kritischen Auseinandersetzung mit eben diesem postklassischen Hollywoodkino.
