Das Kolloquium richtet sich an alle Studierenden des MA Politische Kommunikation, MA Politikwissenschaft und MA Soziologie, die an ihrer Abschlussarbeit arbeiten oder im Begriff sind, mit dem Verfassen der Abschlussarbeit zu beginnen. Neben der Diskussion der einzelnen Projekte werden die häufigsten Probleme und Herausforderungen behandelt, die im Rahmen der Erstellung von MA-Abschlussarbeiten auftreten. So sollen Fragen zur Themenwahl und -eingrenzung, zur Konzeptualisierung, zur Gliederung und argumentativen Systematik, zum Verhältnis und zur Verbindung von Theorie und Empirie, etc. bearbeitet werden.
