Das Matthäusevangelium fristete in der theologischen Forschung bis dato weitgehend ein Schattendasein – dies aber zu Unrecht, wie in der Vorlesung deutlich werden soll und wird. Anhand der Exegese ausgewählter Texte sollen die theologische Einmaligkeit und Einzigar-tigkeit und das unverwechselbare theologische Profil des ersten Evangelisten gerade auch in der Abgrenzung zu anderen neutestamentlichen Autoren herausgearbeitet werden.
