Dass es ein Recht gibt, das nicht von Menschen erst gesetzt worden ist, sondern von Natur aus besteht, ist einer der ältesten und wirksamsten Gedanken der Rechts- und Sozialphilosophie. Das Seminar soll die Geschichte dieses Gedankens von den antiken Quellen über die Hochblüte des naturrechtlichen Denkens in der frühen Neuzeit bis zu der erneuten Aufnahme dieses Gedankens in der Gegenwart verfolgen. Es soll dabei zugleich prüfen, ob, und wenn ja, in welcher Form, der Gedanke der Sache nach trägt.

Die im Seminar besprochenen Texte werden zu Beginn des Semesters in Form eines Readers bereitgestellt.
Zu ausgewählten Themenbereichen werden den Teilnehmern Literaturempfehlungen zur Verfügung gestellt.

Voraussetzung für die Vergabe von 2 Leistungspunkten (Bachelor Einschreibung bis SoSe 11 und Master of Education) ist die regelmäßige und aktive Teilnahme sowie das Erbringen des schriftlichen oder mündlichen Beitrags im Umfang von maximal 1200 Wörtern für das Modulportfolio, auf dem die unbenotete Moduleinzelleistung beruht. Die Anforderungen für den Modulportfolio-Beitrag werden zu Veranstaltungsbeginn bekannt gegeben.
