Immanuel Kant verstand seine 1783 erschienenen Prolegomena zu einer jeden künftigen Metaphysik, die als Wissenschaft wird auftreten können als popularisierte und neu geordnete Darstellung der Gedanken, die er 1781 in erster Auflage der schwer zugänglichen Kritik der reinen Vernunft vorlegte. Die Lektüre der Prolegomena ermöglicht eine Einführung in die Problemstellung („Wie sind synthetische Urteile a priori möglich?“), die komplexe Begrifflichkeit, zentrale Gedankengänge sowie die Systematik von Kants Transzendentalphilosophie.
Der Lektürekurs soll die Kompetenzen des Lesens und Interpretierens eines philosophischen Textes ebenso fördern wie die Kompetenz, einem klassischen philosophischen Unternehmen mit längerem Atem zu folgen.

Als Textgrundlage zur Anschaffung kann eine der Ausgaben der Verlage Meiner (Philosophische Bibliothek, Bd. 540) oder Reclam (Universalbibliothek Nr. 2468) empfohlen werden.
