Der Begriff Mädchen of Color ist eine herrschaftskritische Selbstbezeichnung von Mädchen mit Migrationsgeschichte. Im Seminar stehen folgende Fragen im Mittelpunkt: Wie werden Mädchen of Color in der Öffentlichkeit dargestellt und welche Intentionen können diskursanalytisch davon abgleitet werden? Welchen Einfluss hat der Diskurs auf Bedingungen des Aufwachsens von Mädchen und auf pädagogische Arbeit? Welche Theorien unterstützen den Perspektivwechsel von der Defizitorientiertheit hin zu Handlungsfähigkeit und Kompetenzorientiertheit? Ziel ist, einen Einblick in die Jugend-Migrationsforschung in der BRD zu bekommen und unterschiedliche Positionierungen und Perspektiven kennenzulernen.
