In den letzten Jahren sehen wir in vielen Ländern ein deutliches (Wieder-)Erstarken rechter Parteien und rechten Gedankenguts, das sich in Protesten wie "Querdenken" bis hin zu Rechtsterrorismus (wie der Mord an Walter Lübcke oder die Morde in Halle) zeigt. Das Seminar beschäftigt sich dabei zentral mit Deutschland , wirft aber auch einen Blick in andere europäische Länder oder die USA.
Nach der Erarbeitung theoretischer Grundlagen zu Begriffen wie Rechtsextremismus (Wie unterscheidet sich dieser von Rechtspopulisms oder Rechtsterrorismus?), Neue Rechte und Ideologien der Ungleichwertigkeit, widmen wir uns einerseits Mobilisierungen der (extremen) Rechten mit ihren Akteur_innen, Zielen und ideologischen Zugängen. Andererseits betrachten wir neben dem ‚rechten Rand‘ auch die gesellschaftliche ‚Mitte‘ als Trägerin rechten Gedankenguts und als Akteurin, beispielsweise bei asylfeindlichen Protesten oder den sogenannten Hygienedemos.
