Die Einführung vermittelt anwendungsrelevantes Grundlagenwissen der Romanistik an Textbeispielen der französischen und spanischen Literatur aus mehreren Jahrhunderten. Orientiert an den drei "Großgattungen" Dramatik, Lyrik und Prosa wird ein erster, literturhistorischer Überblick geboten. Es werden Grundprobleme der Literaturtheorie diskutiert, ebenso wie Begriffe und Methodik der Kulturwissenschaften.
