Die Vorlesung gibt einen Überblick über die interdisziplinären Rahmenbedingungen, die zentralen Themenbereiche, die wichtigsten Forschungsfragen und die verwendeten Vorgehensweisen und Techniken der Klinischen Linguistik. Nach einem kurzen geschichtlichen Abriss der Entwicklung zum Studienfach "Klinische Linguistik" werden die neurolinguistischen, neurophysiologischen und neuropsychologischen Grundlagen der Sprachproduktion/Sprachrezeption vorgestellt. Der Zusammenhang von Gehirn, Kognition und Sprache wird diskutiert, Störungsbilder infolge zentralnervöser Beeinträchtigungen werden überblicksartig vorgestellt.
