Der Kurs richtet sich an Studenten, die im Kontext ihrer Masterarbeit ihre Kenntnisse in Statistik auffrischen und den Umgang mit R lernen möchten. R ist eine kostenlose Programmiersprache und Arbeitsumgebung für statistische Analysen.
Im ersten Teil des Kurses wiederholen die Studierenden die Grundlagen experimentellen Arbeitens und nehmen an einem Experiment teil. Die so gewonnenen Daten werden verwendet um die vielfältigen Möglichkeiten in R Daten grafisch deskriptiv aufzuarbeiten, zu behandeln. Der zweite Teil widmet sich der Inferenzstastistik. Wiederholt werden Verfahren um Unterschiede und Zusammenhänge kategorieller und kontinuierlicher Variablen zu testen (Chi-Quadrat Tests, t-Tests, Anova, Korrelation ua.) und deren Handhabung in R.
