Nach einer vergleichenden Bestimmung und Abgrenzung der Formen sollen zunächst ausgewählte Volksmärchen im Hinblick auf Form und Inhalt besprochen werden. Sodann soll an ausgewählten Texten ein Überblick zur Theorie und Geschichte des europäischen Kunstmärchens vom 18. bis zum 20. Jahrhundert erarbeitet werden. Ein Schwerpunkt wird dabei auf der Romantik liegen.
