Das Seminar verfolgt ein doppeltes Ziel. Zum einen setzt es sich mit interdisziplinären Theorien auseinander, die in den letzten Jahren die Geschichtswissenschaft in ihrem Selbstverständnis wie ihren Grundlagen erschüttert haben, die aber auch als Chance ihrer Erneuerung angesehen werden können. Im Vordergrund stehen dabei Theorien und Konzepte, die die eurozentrische Geschichtsschreibung, die Fixierung auf Schriftlichkeit und die Zentralität der Menschen in der historischen Darstellung grundlegend infrage stellen und die geschichtswissenschaftliche Disziplin insgesamt verändern. Zum anderen führt es in das wissenschaftliche Bloggen ein. Ein Teil der Sitzungen wird daher der inhaltlichen Auseinandersetzung mit dem Seminarthema, der zweite dem wissenschaftlichen Bloggen gewidmet sein. Prüfungsleistung ist ein wissenschaftlicher Blogpost, dessen Verfassen im Seminar vorbereitet wird.
Das Seminar wird in Kooperation mit Prof. Dr. Bettina Severin-Barboutie, Lehrstuhl für Neuere Geschichte an der Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen veranstaltet und von Stefanie Haacke vom Schreiblabor der Universität Bielefeld unterstützt. Das Seminar findet digital statt.
