Das Theorieseminar beschäftigt sich mit dem, was historisches Denken ausmacht: Zeit. Die Zeitlichkeit historischen Denkens äußert sich in Narrationen. Deshalb wird im ersten Teil des Seminars die Erzähltypologie Rüsens vorgestellt und als narrative Kompetenz theoretisch und empirisch entfaltet. Im zweiten Teil des Theorieseminars geht es um die hermeneutische Kompetenz als der Fähigkeit, mit Quellen umzugehen. Dabei werden verschiedene Möglichkeiten eröffnet, die Theorie auf Unterrichtspraxis zu beziehen. Anhand der Kriterien guten Geschichtsunterricht wird in die Planung einer Stunde eingeführt und SchülerInnenarbeiten (Abitur) gemeinsam korrigiert.
