In dem Seminar wird eine Einführung in begrifflich-methodische Ansätze zur mediensoziologischen Forschung gegeben. Dazu werden vor allem einschlägige Texte aus dem Umfeld der Frankfurter Schule, der Cultural Studies und der konstruktivistischen Medienforschung herangezogen. Diese Texte werden vorgestellt und anhand einiger ausgewählter Problemstellungen (z.B. Medien und Wirklichkeit, Medienproduktion und Medienrezeption; Medien und soziale Integration, Medien und Identität; Medien und Kritik) auf Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede hin diskutiert.
