Die Vorlesung gibt einen Überblick über das Methodenspektrum der empirischen Sozialforschung. Im einzelnen werden folgende Themen behandelt:
- Historische Hintergründe
- Planung und Ablauf empirischer Untersuchungen
- Erhebungsdesigns
- Auswahlverfahren
- Erhebungsverfahren (Beobachtung, Befragung)
- Techniken der Datenauswertung
In den Tutorien werden die einzelnen Themen vertiefend behandelt. Hierzu können Materialien aus repräsentativen Studien (z.B. ALLBUS) verwendet werden.
